Education:

2005 – 2010: Doctor of Philosophy in Photovoltaic Engineering (UNSW)

2000 – 2005: Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel)

Research interests:

  • Development of new characterisation methods for silicon and non-silicon devices

  • Development of machine learning applications for photovoltaics

  • Investigation of defects in silicon and non-silicon devices

  • Development of novel passivation techniques for contacts and surfaces

  • Development of novel agriPV (the combination of agriculture and photovoltaic) modules

  • Development of novel beta-voltaics devices

Why is your research important?

All the different aspects of my research aim to achieve the same goal: Making photovoltaics cheaper. I truly believe that solar energy (and a vegetarian diet) is the only way to save our planet. Through my research, I am trying to do my part to save the world faster.

Why do you like research?

The fact that my passion is also the main way to save the world. Working with very smart and creative people. Being challenged all the time. Discovering something that was not known before.

What do you like to do when you are not saving the world?

Reading in the sun. Exercising. Watching movies. Snowboarding.
