Education:

2023 – Now: Doctor of Philosophy in Photovoltaic Engineering (UNSW)

2018 – 2020: Master of Technology in Energy Technology (IIT Bombay/Tezpur University, India)

2012 – 2016: Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Assam Engineering College, India)

Research interests:

  • Series resistance imaging of tandem solar cells

  • Development of advanced characterisation methods for tandem solar cells

Why is your research important?

Solar cells are low voltage, high current devices. This requires the minimisation of series resistance losses to achieve high power conversion efficiencies, which highlights the importance of series resistance imaging in solar cells. Most projections consider tandem solar cells, with efficiencies noticeably exceeding that of single-junction silicon solar cells, as the most promising next-generation photovoltaic technology. My research on series resistance imaging and advanced characterisation of tandem solar cells helps analyse their performance and determine the improvements that are required to obtain their full potential.

What do you like about research?

Research allows me to connect and brainstorm ideas with different people and learn from them. It is always interesting to find different routes toward achieving the goal.

What do you like to do when you are not saving the world?

I enjoy working out, cooking, watching television series, and practicing my dancing (all of them not necessarily on the same day).
